HowTo synchronize local directories

This tutorial will show how to synchronize two local directories(click icons to see screens)

Run Distributed Storage if it's not running yet. Open "My Shares" tab and click "Add File/Directory" button. Select the first directory.

Check Share options: "Synchronization" checkBox should be set. Set "Password Protection" - this will prevent access from others. Check "Web Sharing" if you would like to have public readonly access to files using web browser.

Do the same operations for the second directory which you need to synchronize with. Now you should have two directories in "My Shares" list.

Switch to "My Sync Tasks" tab and press "Add Task" button. Select "Directory" and press "Next".

Select the first directory in "Select Local Directory" dialog and press "Select" button.

Select the second directory in "Select Remote Directory" dialog. Make sure you've selected in "Computers" list entry which marked as "localhost" (means this computer) and in "Directories" list select the second directory. Press "Select" button.

Select "Synchronization Type". "Sync Both Sides" means changes from both directories will be synchronized. If you select "Sync From Remote to Local" or "Sync From Local to Remote" - depends on direction after synchronization you will have the copy of the source directory. Leave "Sync Both Sides" selected and press "Add" button.

Now you have Sync Task. To Synchronize content of two directories press "Sync Task" button.

You will be asked for password to access the second directory. Enter password you've set for the second directory.

"Results of Analysis" should appear where you can see which files will be transfered from one directory to another and see details of transfer. You can also change the direction of transfer. if everything is ok press "Process" button, wait for a while and you've done.
